The Emma Willard School in Troy is a prestigious private high school for girls. It is over 200 years old and has an international reputation. It was also the first all girls prep school in the US. Some of its illustrious graduates are Jane Fonda, Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Margaret Olivia Slocum Sage and many more.

Its neo-Gothic campus in the fashionable Mount Ida part of Troy is stunning. A Hollywood move, "Scent of a Woman" with Al Pacino was partly filmed there, but as a boys prep school in New England.
