The MVP Arena started out as the Knickerbocker Arena in 1990 and more recently was the Times Union Center. It is located on South Pearl Street, in Albany, New York downhill from the Empire State Plaza.  The arena serves as a premier destination for a wide range of events, including professional and college sports games, concerts, and shows. The first event the arena hosted was a Frank Sinatra concert.

The MVP Arena is known for its state-of-the-art facilities, including a high-tech sound system, high-definition video screens, and comfortable seating for spectators. The arena can accommodate up to 17,500 people for events, making it one of the largest venues in the region.

In addition to its main arena, the MVP Arena also features smaller event spaces, such as meeting rooms and banquet halls. These spaces can be rented out for private events, such as corporate meetings, weddings, and parties.

The MVP Arena is home to several sports teams, including the Albany Empire, a professional arena football team, and the Siena Saints, a college basketball team. The arena also hosts a variety of concerts and shows throughout the year, featuring top performers from a range of musical genres.

The MVP Arena is a versatile and dynamic venue that serves as a hub for entertainment and events in the Albany area. It offers something for everyone, from sports fans to music lovers, and is a valuable asset to the local community.

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band are scheduled to play the MVP Arena on April 15, 2024. The event was postponed twice in 2023.  Sebastian Maniscalco is scheduled to perform on October 3, 2024.
