Albany County's Helderberg Hudson Rail (Bicycle Walking) Trail

Albany County's Helderberg Hudson Rail (Bicycle Walking) Trail

This is a trail that takes advantage of the scenic route of the old D & H Helderberg Railway line that went along the gorge of the Normanskill all the way to Voorheesville via Delmar; where there was a junction with the mainline there. The parking lot trail entrance on South Pearl Street is quite elaborate. It is also a bus stop, has its own traffic light and even EV charging stations for electric cars. There is also about a half mile of dedicated curb-separated bike lanes along South Pearl Street and the east service road of I-787 leading to the trailhead; to the chagrin of the motorists and people who used to park there.
