Amtrak Railroad Station in Schenectady
The Station

This is the 3rd railway station built at the same spot on Erie Boulevard in Schenectady. The new station was completed in 2018, and like the Rensselaer and Saratoga stations, is owned by the CDTA, or the Capital District Transportation Authority, This authority is better known to most as the organization that runs the bus service in the Capital Region. The official title is the Schenectady Intermodal Station. You can find out more about it on its Wiki page.

It is on the same old mainline tracks the Rensselaer Amtrack Station is on, which was once part of the late, great NYC & HR Railroad. Hopefully, AMTRAK will double-track the line all the way from Rensselaer to where it joins the newer freight mainline in Glenville.
